2015 Krista's Block Pinot Noir
Krista’s Block is one part of a wine duo that always stirs up some sibling rivalry. The two wines are named Jeffery’s Block and Krista’s Block, and they show how a small change in location (a mere 500 ft) can completely change the outcome of a wine. Krista’s Block is named after the family’s only red-headed daughter. Both blocks are planted to the same clones of Pinot. The wines are vinified with native yeasts in identical fermentation vessels, and both wines are aged in duplicate barrel selections. Krista’s Block is planted on a steeper, rockier south-facing slope that is exposed to the cold Ocean winds coming from the west.

Tasting Notes
Garnet red in color. Bold and flashy aromatically, with an abundance of red cherry, cola, and lifted spice notes. There is an developing element of earthiness that adds richness and complexity. The attack is smooth and seamless, with a spice-filled midpalate. The finish proves to be nicely structured with layered tannins and spice.
Vintage Notes
The 2015 vintage marked another extraordinary growing season. Warm weather prevailed throughout the entire season, resulting in concentrated and balanced fruit. We were able to harvest our red grapes at the balance point of having full flavors and bright acidity, all without fear of autumn rains.
